Verdict
1899 is gorgeously shot, very well scored and superbly directed, though its editing and pacing are very problematic given its slow nature and dialogue that can be too mysterious and intricate at certain moments. But the show’s atmosphere full of terror and fear is commendably achieved while the ambitious scope in storytelling and genres employed is also admirable.
