Jaadugar Review



Jaadugar is an Indian Hindi language film that was released on 15 July 2022 on Netflix. The film is directed by Sameer Saxena starring Jitendra Kumar, Arushi Sharma and Jaaved Jaaferi as the main lead actors in the movie.



The story is set in Neemuch bylanes and revolves around Meenu who wants to become a magician just like his Guruji Magician Chhabra. Things take a drastic turn of events when he falls in love with Disha who has her troubled past. When Meenu meets Disha’s father he is challenged to win the football game to marry Disha and ask her hand in marriage. But things do not work in his favour where Disha does not reciprocate his feelings and also his team does not win a game in years.

Crew Director Sameer Saxena has depicted a storyline which is based on the genre of sports drama and romantic comedy and revolves around the desire to win a trophy. Although the film is not a biopic, it is a romantic story with a magical twist. The writers have developed a storyline which has a simplistic premise and transformation of the protagonist from a self-centred individual to someone filled with compassion….

Overall, the film does have its funny moments which will draw you into the world of Jaadugar but the metaphorical goal of having a decent premise does not apply to this movie. The film leaves the viewers exhausted and confused with its premise as it has too many genres and the lack of creative writing for a sports comedy film does not improve the directionless premise. The unnecessary scenes, far-stretched plot and basic narrative fail to work in the favor of Sameer’s directorial Netflix original.
